If you feel like you have tight hips, the figure 4 stretch we do at the end of this class is going to be perfect for you. To really maximize your hip stretch in this posture, make sure your ankle is really overhanging the knee and the foot is truly flexed. I see so many of my students with the ankle on the thigh instead of crossed over, or the foot sickled and not in an active flex with all 5 toes yearning back. Doing this, as well as thinking of your knee moving energetically away from you as we hold here, will make this stretch so much deeper. Add this gentle yin yoga routine to your day to increase hip flexibility fast!
