Yoga & meditation teacher
Welcome back for Day 2 of the 2023 Evolve Yoga Challenge! This powerful class is all about balancing emotions and regaining our control.
We’ll begin by coming to a seated position and slowing our breathing down. Remind yourself that you are always centered when you draw your attention to your heart. Next, we’re going to do a little self-massage down our torso, ending with our hands in a triangle shape over our womb space. Often when we feel overwhelmed, a way to come into balance emotionally is to think of energy moving down into these lower centers of the body. We’ll start our movements today with some dynamic shoulder twists. Make sure you’re pulling up from the pelvic floor and engaging your core. As women, we have this ability to hold and move a lot of energy, and this practice today is going to help us to conduct that energy through our body in a way that feels peaceful and aligned. A lot of what we practice today is going to be a simulation of the chaos that we might feel in daily life… but on the mat, we’re practicing managing and moving through the chaos into stillness and peace.
